Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the ‘Avsar’ festival, commemorating 200 years since the establishment of the Jetalpur Swaminarayan Temple. Patel emphasized the Swaminarayan sect’s role in fostering social harmony and societal reform.
During the event, Patel highlighted the historical significance of the Jetalpur Dham, noting its founding two centuries ago. He mentioned that the temple, the fifth among nine established by Swaminarayan himself, holds a special place in history.
Patel also discussed India’s global standing, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the country’s resilience amidst changing global dynamics. He urged people to collaborate in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India.
Emphasizing the Swaminarayan sect’s contributions to social harmony, Patel praised the sect’s efforts in eradicating social evils and superstitions. He commended the ongoing service activities undertaken by the sect’s sadhus and saints in the spirit of national welfare.
Tejendraprasadji Maharaj, speaking at the event, advocated for upholding religious values in politics. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing religion in politics and blessed the well-being of Gujarat under Bhupendra Patel’s leadership.
The celebration was attended by dignitaries including Kaushalendraprasad Maharaj, Lalji Maharaj, local MLA Babubhai Patel, senior saints from Kalupur and Jetalpur Dham, and numerous devotees of the Swaminarayan sect.
