Gujarat Giants have confirmed that Anushka Sharma sustained a minor injury and will be out of action for a brief period during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. Anushka, a young batter, was injured while fielding in a match against Delhi Capitals.

The team’s medical staff is closely monitoring Anushka’s progress, and despite her absence being a setback, her health remains the top priority for Gujarat Giants. Anushka, a 22-year-old batting all-rounder, had made an impactful debut in the WPL, scoring 44 runs off 30 balls in her first match.

Ayushi Soni has been given a debut cap by the Giants to replace Anushka in the playing eleven. Gujarat Giants have shown strong performances this season, winning both their initial matches against Warriorz and Delhi Capitals. Currently, they hold the second position in the WPL points table.
