Gujarat is gearing up to spotlight South Gujarat in its upcoming economic expansion phase during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) scheduled on May 1 and 2 at AURO University in Surat. The event will also emphasize global finance through GIFT City and emerging investment opportunities in Global Capability Centres.
The conference aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and international stakeholders to explore the significance of innovation, industrial collaboration, and financial services in driving long-term growth. Sessions will cover topics like startup scaling, industrial transformation, sustainability, and regional development, with a specific focus on South Gujarat as a pivotal growth engine within the state’s broader development strategy.
Gujarat’s startup ecosystem will be a key highlight at the conference, boasting over 18,880 DPIIT-recognized startups, positioning the state as the fifth nationally in terms of startup presence. Notably, more than 32% of these startups are located in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, indicating a decentralized entrepreneurship pattern. The ecosystem is well-supported by over 210 government-funded incubators and 318 registered mentors, contributing to Gujarat’s consistent ranking as a “Best Performer” in the Startup India rankings since 2018.
