Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini encouraged the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Punjab to come together, emphasizing that their unity could help the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win the upcoming state elections. He highlighted the BJP’s inclusive approach, ensuring representation for all sections of society. Addressing an OBC community gathering in Ropar, Punjab, CM Saini criticized the Punjab Assembly’s special session on International Labour Day, calling it disrespectful to workers and indicative of an anti-poor stance.
The Chief Minister expressed concerns about the dissatisfaction among the people of Punjab towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, questioning the fulfillment of election promises. He emphasized the need for transparency, urging Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to account for the progress made on commitments. CM Saini commended the growing awareness and unity within the OBC community, foreseeing positive social and political transformations in the future.
Recognizing the historical contributions of the OBC community to nation-building, CM Saini lamented the lack of recognition and opportunities for this group in Punjab. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting social justice and mainstreaming marginalized sections, citing the significant representation of OBCs in leadership roles within the BJP. Underlining the constitutional elevation of the OBC Commission and the increased reservation in education, he urged OBCs to align with the BJP for empowerment and participation in Punjab’s political landscape.
