Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajeev Bindal expressed worry about the state of health services in Sirmaur, citing issues such as expensive diagnostic tests, charges on registration slips, medicine shortages, and a decrease in doctor numbers. He highlighted the closure of three Primary Health Centres and one Community Health Centre, inefficiencies in the Himcare scheme, and neglect towards Ayushman cards. Bindal emphasized the injustice faced by the people of Sirmaur district and the Nahan constituency due to these challenges.
Referring to a report presented by the Governor, Bindal pointed out disparities in financial assistance received by medical colleges in different regions, with the Nahan college receiving no support. He raised concerns about the prolonged halt in construction of the Nahan Medical College for over three years, despite funding from the Central government. Bindal questioned the delay in operationalizing the proposed hospitals and utilization of sanctioned funds for healthcare projects.
Former Health Minister Bindal criticized the alleged mismanagement of funds, questioning the lack of transparency in expenditure despite significant financial support received by the state. He highlighted the closure of institutions, stalled development projects, and public suffering, attributing these issues to financial mismanagement and administrative failures by the state government. Bindal mentioned the BJP’s protest during an all-party meeting ahead of the Budget session regarding these concerns.
