Hyundai Motor Group commemorated its 30th year in India by enhancing its community programs in healthcare, education, culture, and the environment nationwide. The group plans to amplify its initiatives through its affiliated companies and the Happy Move program to foster private-sector connections between India and South Korea. Hyundai Mobis, for instance, is actively engaged in restoring ponds and lakes in water-deficient areas of Tamil Nadu to enhance water conservation efforts.
The group’s ‘Ecogram’ initiative has set up local waste recycling plants to convert food waste into biogas for electricity generation. Moreover, through the ‘IONIQ Forest’ program, Hyundai Motor has planted over 1.1 million trees and developed parks in various regions like Pune, Sriperumbudur, and Gurgaon since 2021. Additionally, efforts are underway to integrate the ‘Hyundai Hope for Cancer campaign’ with the global ‘Hyundai Hope on Wheels’ project and establish the Hyundai Centre for Cancer Genomics at IIT Madras to advance cancer research.
Expanding its ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’ program, Hyundai is extending telemedicine and mobile medical services to more communities. Hyundai Glovis is contributing to healthcare accessibility by donating essential medical equipment to a government hospital near Chennai. The group also focuses on education and youth development, with Kia Corporation working on constructing design studios and educational facilities in technical schools.
Hyundai Mobis is dedicated to setting up engineering labs for practical youth education and building kindergartens in rural areas. Furthermore, the group emphasizes strengthening cultural, artistic, and sports-related exchanges to foster closer ties between Korea and India.
