A five-day joint services multi-speciality medical camp in Lakshadweep saw 4,719 patients benefiting from specialized healthcare services. The Indian Navy, along with the Armed Forces, conducted the camp across various islands, providing expert consultations in a range of medical specialties. The camp, which ran from January 12 to January 16, marked a significant milestone in delivering advanced healthcare to remote island communities.
The medical camp in Lakshadweep offered services from specialists and super-specialists, including experts in Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology, and more. The deployment of medical teams and equipment, coupled with the establishment of medical facilities on each island, showcased seamless coordination among the services. The camp also included general surgical procedures, cataract surgeries, and advanced diagnostic services like echocardiography and endoscopy.
Comprehensive medical and surgical services were provided across all islands, reducing the need for referrals to mainland hospitals. The camp, which offered services free of cost, also focused on preventive health awareness and conducted various educational activities. The Indian Navy’s contribution included donating ECG machines to healthcare facilities, emphasizing the commitment to the well-being of citizens in remote regions.
