Ahead of the swearing-in of the new United Democratic Front (UDF) government in Kerala under Chief Minister-designate V.D. Satheesan, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Ministers-designate expressed readiness to take on responsibilities. The upcoming Ministry, led by V.D. Satheesan, is set to have a notable IUML presence, with five party members becoming part of the state Cabinet. The IUML leaders, including P.K. Kunhalikutty, N. Samsudheen, K.M. Shaji, P.K. Basheer, and V.E. Abdul Gafoor, will play key roles in the UDF-led coalition government.
Minister-designate V.E. Abdul Gafoor highlighted that the new government’s objectives have been clearly outlined by Chief Minister-designate V.D. Satheesan. He emphasized the collective effort of Ministers in achieving these goals under Satheesan’s leadership. N. Samsudheen, an IUML MLA and Minister-designate, expressed joy at being selected as a Cabinet member and anticipated the official commencement of the government on Monday.
P.K. Basheer, another Minister-designate, affirmed his readiness to undertake responsibilities within the UDF-led government. The swearing-in ceremony for the V.D. Satheesan-led Ministry is scheduled for Monday morning in Thiruvananthapuram, signaling the start of a new UDF administration in Kerala. Expectations are high among alliance leaders and supporters regarding governance priorities and development initiatives.
