Jaipur is on high alert as preparations are underway for Muharram processions. The city police and district administration have implemented a comprehensive security and traffic management strategy to ensure a peaceful observance of Yaum-e-Ashura. Approximately 3,000 police personnel, along with Quick Response Teams, Emergency Response Teams, Intelligence units, and cyber monitoring teams, have been deployed throughout the city.
To maintain security, traffic restrictions have been imposed in the Walled City area. Entry of heavy vehicles at major city entry points has been prohibited, and surveillance measures such as drones, CCTV cameras, and the Abhay Command Centre have been put in place. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the Walled City through specific access points, and traffic from surrounding areas will be diverted through alternate routes.
Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced in major markets and along procession routes. Following the traditional Qatl Ki Raat observance, Tazias from various parts of Jaipur will gather at Badi Chaupar before proceeding to Karbala. The event will be closely monitored using drones, CCTV cameras, and plain-clothes personnel to ensure safety and security.
The district administration has taken precautionary measures, including cancelling the licences of 17 Tazias on sensitive routes. Coordination meetings have been held with community groups to ensure a smooth procession. The Jaipur Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate with security measures and follow designated routes for the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions.
