The Karnataka BJP expressed confidence in securing a majority in the upcoming state Assembly elections, citing growing public dissatisfaction with the Congress-led government. BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra made these remarks during an event commemorating former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 101st birth anniversary in Bengaluru.
Vijayendra highlighted the Congress party’s declining status, pointing to recent town panchayat election outcomes in the state. He emphasized that regardless of the voting method, be it EVMs or ballot papers, the fate of the Congress party remains unchanged. The BJP leader praised the party’s leadership lineage, including figures like Vajpayee, L.K. Advani, and current leaders Modi, Shah, and Nadda, expressing optimism about the BJP’s future in West Bengal.
Asserting that the BJP’s current opposition status is due to internal deficiencies, Vijayendra urged party members not to be anxious. He noted a surge in public discontent against the Congress government, predicting a substantial victory for the BJP with 130-140 MLAs in Karnataka, whenever elections are held. Vijayendra stressed the importance of strengthening the party and invoked the inspirational legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Vijayendra recalled Vajpayee’s significant influence on Karnataka’s political landscape, mentioning how leaders like Yediyurappa drew inspiration from him. He highlighted Vajpayee’s foresight regarding the BJP’s growth in South India and his unwavering faith in party workers. The BJP leader emphasized the need to uphold Vajpayee’s vision and patriotism to guide the party’s future endeavors.
