The Lawyers’ Canteen at the Delhi High Court has temporarily suspended serving main course meals because of a lack of LPG gas cylinders, as per a notice from the canteen management. Due to the disruption in LPG supply, the canteen is unable to prepare regular cooked meals, the management informed in a letter to the Secretary of the Delhi High Court Bar Association. They mentioned that until the gas supply is restored, they cannot serve main course items.
The canteen management expressed uncertainty about when the gas supply would be replenished. They assured that once the gas supply is back to normal, they will resume preparing main course meals. However, in the meantime, the canteen will continue offering non-cooked items like sandwiches, salads, fruit chaats, and other refreshments.
Apologizing for any inconvenience caused, the canteen management sought the cooperation of Bar members during this period of gas supply disruption. The shortage of commercial LPG cylinders, influenced by global oil and gas supply disruptions amid West Asia tensions, is affecting various services, leading to long queues at gas agencies. With restrictions on commercial LPG supply, essential institutions like schools and hospitals are being prioritized, leaving many eateries struggling to obtain commercial gas cylinders.
