The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has modified the schedule for the 2026 High School (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) Board exams to better accommodate students and logistical needs. The changes, announced through an official notice on January 9, 2026, affect the timing and sequence of certain subjects, particularly languages. The Hindi exam for Class 10, originally set for February 11, 2026, has been rescheduled to March 6, 2026, providing students with more preparation time.
The adjustments also impact Class 12 exams, with Urdu and Marathi papers, initially planned for February 9, 2026, now scheduled for March 6, 2026. Additionally, the Hindi paper, originally slated for February 7, will now take place on March 7, 2026. These changes aim to create a more balanced distribution of subjects at the beginning of the examination period. The theory exams for Class 12 will start on February 10, 2026, while Class 10 exams will commence on February 13, 2026, both in a single morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Students are advised to arrive at the exam centers by 8:00 AM, with seating starting at 8:30 AM and entry closing at 8:45 AM. OMR sheet distribution will be at 8:50 AM, followed by question papers at 8:55 AM. Practical exams for regular students will be held at their schools from February 10 to March 10, 2026, while private candidates will appear at designated centers during the same period. The MPBSE has instructed schools to promptly inform students and parents about the revised timetable through various channels, emphasizing the importance of downloading the updated date sheet from the official portal for accurate information. This schedule adjustment impacts over 16.60 lakh students expected to participate in the 2026 Board exams.
