The success of the operation last year led to ‘Tiranga Yatras’ organized by the State BJP unit across Madhya Pradesh, involving party members and citizens. However, the anniversary also revived a political controversy related to the event, involving remarks made by state Minister Vijay Shah about Colonel Sofia Qureshi, which sparked criticism and a political dispute.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress, planning a major protest against the BJP on farmers’ issues, refrained from commenting on the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor.’
