The historic Mansa railway station in Punjab, built in 1911, has undergone a significant transformation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The station now offers modern facilities to passengers, including a new building, dedicated parking, waiting rooms, lifts, Wi-Fi, clean water, and more.
The redevelopment project aimed to enhance passenger convenience by upgrading amenities and overall infrastructure. Platforms have been improved with LED lighting, a foot-over-bridge, and lift facilities for easy access between platforms. Additionally, the station now boasts comfortable waiting rooms, clean toilets, and modern seating areas.
Local residents have praised the redevelopment, noting a substantial improvement in passenger services. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, initiated by the Ministry of Railways in December 2022, aims to revamp 1,275 stations nationwide, with Mansa railway station being one of the beneficiaries.
Authorities have also focused on accessibility, with the construction of a special park for differently-abled individuals outside the station premises. The community has welcomed the modernization of the station, highlighting the convenience and positive changes brought about by the redevelopment.
