NCP Chief Spokesperson Anand Paranjape criticized NCP(SP) MLA Rohit Pawar for his recent political moves following the tragic death of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Paranjape termed Rohit Pawar’s actions as “wrongful and disgusting.” The NCP leadership has initiated steps for a thorough investigation after the unfortunate plane crash that claimed Ajit Pawar’s life.
Paranjape mentioned that the party delegation met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to request a CBI inquiry into the incident. Despite official assurances, Paranjape expressed displeasure at Rohit Pawar’s continuous meetings with leaders like Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and MNS Chief Raj Thackeray.
Paranjape highlighted the political isolation Ajit Pawar faced during his lifetime, especially after taking a different political stance post-July 2023. He referred to past instances where senior leaders labeled Sunetra Pawar as an “outsider” and urged votes for family members.
Paranjape debunked claims regarding Jay Pawar’s treatment at the party’s national convention. He clarified that Jay Pawar was not relegated to the back rows as alleged by Rohit Pawar, citing Facebook Live footage showing Jay Pawar being asked to sit at the front.
Paranjape reiterated the NCP’s support for Ajit Pawar’s family, including his wife Sunetra Pawar, the Deputy CM, and their sons Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar. He emphasized the need for the truth about the accident to come out through proper channels rather than political drama, stating that Maharashtra has lost a great leader.
