The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar recently introduced a public hearing program at the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) office. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, accompanied by Minister Sheela Kumari Mandal, personally listened to citizens’ grievances during the event. Choudhary highlighted that this structured and continuous initiative aims to address public issues effectively.
Ministers will now be available daily at the JD-U office for citizens to directly raise their concerns, ensuring swift action on complaints. The newly launched “Sahyog” portal and helpline ‘1100’ enable citizens to lodge complaints from home, eliminating the need to visit government offices. The Bihar government under Samrat Choudhary has set a target of resolving complaints within 30 days, with disciplinary actions for delays starting from the 31st day.
The helpline service will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering citizens a convenient platform to address their grievances. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Choudhary also voiced support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to reduce gold purchases and conserve fuel, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in preserving India’s foreign exchange reserves. Additionally, he criticized the Congress for its alleged lack of interest in resolving public issues, highlighting the government’s commitment to enforcing Bihar’s prohibition law strictly.
