In Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi, officials reported that more than 50 lakh pilgrims have visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine this year. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board stated that the milestone of 50 lakh pilgrims was crossed on June 22. This year’s pilgrimage has seen a significant increase compared to the same period last year, with 10.86 lakh more devotees visiting the shrine.
The rise in pilgrim footfall highlights the strong faith and devotion of pilgrims towards the revered shrine. The number of pilgrims has been steadily increasing, showcasing the trust pilgrims have in the arrangements made by the Shrine Board and all stakeholders involved in managing the pilgrimage. Under the leadership of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, the Shrine Board has implemented various measures to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience for devotees.
Efforts to enhance infrastructure, accommodation, sanitation, crowd management, healthcare services, and other facilities have improved the overall pilgrimage experience. Officials are optimistic about the continued success of the Yatra in the upcoming months, especially during the festive season, given the enthusiastic response from devotees.
