All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi expressed disapproval of the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision to declare the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula mosque complex as a temple, likening it to the Babri Masjid case ruling. Owaisi highlighted that the High Court’s judgment overlooked essential facts and was based on belief rather than evidence. He emphasized that Muslims had been offering prayers at the site for 700 years, emphasizing its historical significance as a Waqf property.
Owaisi criticized the court’s decision, pointing out that it disregarded key historical documents such as the 1935 Dhar State Gazette and the 1985 Waqf registration. He expressed concern that such judgments could set a precedent for challenging places of worship, undermining the Places of Worship Act. Owaisi urged the Supreme Court to consider all relevant facts and ensure justice in the matter, emphasizing the need to uphold constitutional values and religious freedoms.
The AIMIM Chief highlighted discrepancies in the court’s ruling, citing instances where the court favored one religion over another. He underscored the need to protect the rights of worship for all communities and prevent similar disputes in the future. Owaisi raised objections to the involvement of the Narendra Modi government and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the case, alleging bias and violations of constitutional principles.
