Highlighting the positive impact of the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East (PM-DeVINE) on Assam’s education sector, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the scheme for upgrading government schools into modern learning centers. Through PM-DeVINE, smart classrooms and top-notch infrastructure are being introduced, creating a blend of technology and tradition in educational settings.
One specific school in Palasbari, established in 1953, has been revitalized into a hub of knowledge and nation-building under this initiative. PM-DeVINE, a scheme from the Union Budget 2022–23, aims to enhance infrastructure and socio-economic progress in the northeastern states, particularly in Assam.
The scheme in Assam focuses on enhancing educational institutions, boosting learning outcomes, and addressing infrastructure gaps, especially in semi-urban and rural regions. By incorporating smart classrooms, digital tools, and improved facilities, government schools are now offering quality education to students in their local communities.
The integration of PM-DeVINE projects with state-led efforts has been praised by education experts for its potential to improve learning outcomes. The Assam government’s approval for establishing 100 new schools underscores its commitment to providing quality education for all and investing in long-term human resource development.
