Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of the e-Jagriti platform in addressing various challenges by digitalizing the entire consumer complaint process. The platform, as shared by PM Modi in a post on X, was discussed in an article by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi from the Department of Consumer Affairs. Joshi highlighted the transformation brought about by e-Jagriti, aligning consumer justice with ongoing digital reforms.
Launched on January 1, 2025, e-Jagriti amalgamated four legacy applications into a single AI-driven, paperless system. This integration has streamlined the filing and resolution of consumer cases, with over 2.29 lakh cases filed and 2.07 lakh cases resolved, achieving a disposal rate of 90.75%. Notably, the platform has empowered Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to seek consumer justice without the need to return to India.
During the Financial Year 2025-26, consumer commissions witnessed significant performance enhancements, with over 1.65 lakh cases registered and more than 1.52 lakh cases resolved. The disposal rate surged to 92.3%, marking an improvement from the previous fiscal year. In the fourth quarter of FY 2025-26, consumer commissions maintained robust performance, disposing of 34,600 cases out of 38,944 filings, reflecting a disposal rate of 88.84%, higher than the corresponding period in FY 2024-25.
