A police team in Bihar’s Jamui district faced an attack by local residents while attempting to arrest an absconding accused, resulting in injuries to three personnel. The incident took place in Khairma village when the police team went to apprehend Dhibu Yadav, who had been avoiding arrest in multiple criminal cases. The accused, accompanied by family members and associates, allegedly assaulted the police using sticks, clubs, bricks, and stones during the arrest near Khairma bridge.
Despite the assault, the police successfully apprehended the accused. The injured officers, identified as sub-inspectors Sunil Kumar Sah and Bikram Kumar along with constable Ranbir Kumar, were taken to Sadar hospital for medical treatment. All three are currently receiving medical care under the supervision of Dr. Manish Kumar.
Police sources revealed that Dhibu Yadav is involved in serious cases such as dacoity, robbery, and assault, with cases registered against him at the Railway Police Station. He had been evading arrest for an extended period before being taken into custody. Following the attack on the police team, authorities have launched an investigation to identify and take action against those responsible for the assault.
In a separate incident on March 27, 2026, a government team inspecting electricity theft in Bakharaur village under the Sidhwalia police station area was also attacked by locals. The Electricity Department team, led by a junior electrical engineer, faced resistance from villagers during the inspection, leading to a violent confrontation. The situation escalated into an assault on the officials by an angry mob, resulting in injuries and threats.
