President Droupadi Murmu has started her six-day visit to Odisha by arriving at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. She received a warm welcome at the airport on Monday evening, with Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and other dignitaries greeting her. The President then proceeded to the Lok Seva Bhawan for her overnight stay amid tight security.
On Tuesday morning, President Murmu is scheduled to visit Jajpur, where she will visit the historic 13th century Biraja Temple and take part in rituals at Nabhi Gaya. Schools in Jajpur town will remain closed on Tuesday in honor of her visit, as announced by the District Education Officer. Later in the day, she will head to Balasore district to attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University.
In the afternoon, the President will travel to Puri to visit the Shree Jagannath Temple, where she will have darshan of the deities and participate in the aarti ceremony. She will also perform other rituals in the coastal town. President Murmu’s itinerary includes a visit to Mayurbhanj district on February 4, where she will participate in various programs in her home district.
On February 5, she will visit the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur and later explore the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary. Engaging directly with women and youth from tribal communities at Simlipal on February 6, known for its biodiversity and tribal heritage, is also on her agenda. President Murmu will then attend the ‘Black Swan Summit, India’ in Bhubaneswar, an event organized by the Odisha government in partnership with the Global Finance and Technology Network.
Wrapping up her visit on February 7, the President will travel to Chhattisgarh to inaugurate the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival in Jagdalpur. Stringent security measures have been put in place at all venues listed in her itinerary for the duration of her visit.
