Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra in Balotra. He virtually laid the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Phase 2 project during the same event. The Prime Minister engaged with engineers and experts to grasp the crude oil refining process at the refinery’s control room.
Before the official dedication of the refinery, Prime Minister Modi viewed a documentary highlighting the project’s progress and planted a sapling on the refinery premises. Accompanied by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and other officials, he spent nearly two hours at the complex. A public meeting inside a dome within the refinery premises was attended by around 5,000 people.
At the event, Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for Jaipur Metro Phase 2 virtually, with the ceremony broadcasted at Jaipur’s SMS Indoor Stadium. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Urban Development Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, Jaipur MP Manju Sharma, legislators, and citizens were present at the live event in Jaipur.
During an earlier visit to Jodhpur Airport, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new terminal building and launched the revised UDAN scheme to enhance regional air connectivity. The inauguration was attended by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief Minister Sharma, and Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu.
