Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for an official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to June 19, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. In France, he will visit Nice from June 13-14 and Evian and Paris from June 16-19, following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron. The visit aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and France.
During his visit to France, PM Modi will hold bilateral discussions with President Macron in Nice on June 14 to assess various aspects of the India-France relationship. Additionally, the two leaders will jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, which will showcase innovative startups and Venture Capital funds from both nations.
Moving on to Slovakia, PM Modi will embark on a State Visit from June 14-16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This visit marks the first-ever trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993. The agenda includes discussions with Prime Minister Fico to explore new avenues of cooperation, emphasizing sectors like trade, investment, and automobile and railway manufacturing.
On the final leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on June 16-17. This summit will provide a platform for PM Modi to engage with G7 leaders and representatives from partner countries and international organizations. Subsequently, he will head to Paris on June 18 for further bilateral engagements and to attend the VivaTech Summit, a prominent technology and start-up event in Europe.
Wrapping up his visit, PM Modi is expected to address the Indian community in Paris, reinforcing India’s ties with France, Slovakia, and the G7. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that his presence at the G7 Summit underscores India’s role as a significant voice from the Global South and a crucial partner in addressing global challenges.
