Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann assured that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is committed to preserving every authentic vote during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He emphasized the party’s vigilance against any attempts to introduce “fake votes” to sway election outcomes. Mann declared that AAP members will closely monitor the revision process alongside booth-level officers in Punjab to prevent any irregularities.
Expressing concerns over reports of voter list manipulation in various states, CM Mann urged the Election Commission to conduct the SIR process in Punjab with utmost integrity, transparency, and fairness. He stressed the importance of resolving public objections promptly to ensure a democratic voting process free from interference. Mann highlighted the need for transparency, honesty, and accountability in the revision of voter lists to enable every eligible voter to participate without hindrance.
Mann underscored the active involvement of all political parties in overseeing the revision process to uphold the integrity of electoral rolls in Punjab. He condemned the deletion of genuine votes and the inclusion of fraudulent entries, emphasizing the citizens’ determination to prevent such malpractices in the state. The Chief Minister called on the Election Commission to act responsibly and neutrally to address the anxieties surrounding electoral integrity.
