The rebellion within the Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party in the Lok Sabha is escalating, with veteran leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay aligning with rebel faction MPs. Bandyopadhyay, representing Kolkata Uttar for Trinamool Congress, was spotted in Delhi with rebel MP Satabdi Roy, heading to meet BJP leader Bhupender Yadav.
Both Trinamool leaders traveled from Delhi airport to Yadav’s residence in the same car, where ongoing meetings with rebel MPs have been taking place. The faction, led by MPs Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi Roy, now includes Sudip Bandyopadhyay, marking a significant development in the party’s internal dynamics.
Amid internal conflicts following the West Bengal Assembly election results, Trinamool Congress has witnessed a split in its Parliamentary Party, losing control in both the state Assembly and Lok Sabha. The rebellion, highlighted on June 1, saw a majority of MPs challenging Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, with indications of support for the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
