In South Bastar’s Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, security forces discovered a significant amount of weapons, explosives, cash, and gold in Todma village under Barsur Police Station limits. The operation, based on precise intelligence from surrendered Maoists, resulted in the recovery of items valued at around Rs 18 lakh, including a gold biscuit worth Rs 16 lakh and Rs 2 lakh in cash.
This successful recovery has been praised as a major achievement for the Dantewada Police and joint security forces. Led by Badri Narayan Meena, Inspector General of Bastar range, the coordinated search involved senior officials like Rakesh Chaudhary and Dantewada’s Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai.
The seized arsenal included various weapons such as rifles, guns, launchers, ammunition, bombs, grenades, detonators, and other materials believed to be used by Maoist operatives. These hidden caches, strategically buried in the forest, were intended to support violent activities against security personnel.
Officials have highlighted this operation as a testament to the success of the surrender and rehabilitation policy, emphasizing a shift away from Maoist ideology towards peace and development in the region. The timely seizure has also prevented potential major attacks on security forces.
The Dantewada Police have called on remaining Maoists to abandon violence, surrender, and reintegrate into mainstream society. They have also urged local communities to assist in restoring peace and promoting development in the area.
