Two gold medals were awarded on the third day of the Khelo India Winter Games 2026. Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh secured one gold each in the men’s and women’s 500m long track events at Gupukh’s Pond in Leh. Haryana maintained its lead in the medal tally with figure skating golds, while Uttarakhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh shared the second spot.
Skaters from different regions showcased their talents at the Ladakh leg of KIWG 2026. Avikshit Vijay Viswanat from Tamil Nadu and Udreka Singh from Madhya Pradesh claimed the 500m long track gold medals. Avikshit successfully defended his title, while Udreka, in her third KIWG, showed significant improvement.
Avikshit, who trained in the Netherlands, clinched the gold with a timing of 43.48 seconds. The top positions in the race were dominated by skaters from southern Indian states. Danda Chandra Mouli from Andhra Pradesh secured silver, and Harshit BT from Karnataka won bronze.
In ice hockey, the Army triumphed in their second match in group A by defeating Chandigarh 10-1. Ladakh and ITBP women’s teams secured wins, setting the stage for a potential final showdown.
