The group known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan (TTH) has been identified as a propaganda-driven entity with the primary goal of establishing a domestic outfit to provide Pakistan with plausible deniability in case of any terrorist activities. This group is not merely a typical terrorist organization; it serves a broader agenda that includes spreading propaganda in India and attempting to connect itself with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
TTP, notorious for its attacks on Pakistani security forces, has been strategically expanding. Pakistan is seeking to draw links between TTH and TTP, with a larger scheme targeting both India and Afghanistan. By falsely attributing TTP’s support to the Afghan Taliban, Pakistan aims to implicate India in nurturing TTP, as part of a carefully orchestrated plan by the ISI.
The narrative linking TTP and TTH to India gains significance amidst the evolving relations between India, Afghanistan, and the Afghan Taliban. As ties between India and the Afghan Taliban strengthen, Pakistan’s discontent with the Taliban’s independent stance grows. In contrast, Pakistan is keen on portraying India and Afghanistan as supporters of TTP, which poses a significant threat to Pakistani security forces.
The TTH, led by Shahzad Bhatti, operates not only for propaganda purposes but also to establish a network targeting law enforcement personnel in Delhi and surrounding areas. Bhatti’s involvement in TTH was revealed through the arrest of an individual tasked with marking ‘TTH’ in public spaces, indicating a planned module to target police officials. The ISI’s objectives with TTH include linking TTP and TTH to India and Afghanistan, spreading false narratives, and orchestrating terror attacks in India.
