Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, criticized the BJP for allegedly plotting against Southern states in the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats. He called for a movement to ensure fair allocation of seats based on population. Reddy emphasized the need to increase Southern states’ seats proportionally to avoid injustice.
Revanth Reddy highlighted concerns that the 50% criterion for delimitation could disadvantage women, Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the South. He questioned the Union Ministers’ awareness of this impact on seat allocation. The Chief Minister pledged his government’s commitment to noble causes and the people’s welfare.
During Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary celebrations, Revanth Reddy praised Ambedkar’s contributions to nation-building. He likened Ambedkar’s significance to that of Mahatma Gandhi, calling them the nation’s guiding lights. Reddy stressed Ambedkar’s belief in education as a transformative force and the essence of democratic governance.
Revanth Reddy credited Sonia Gandhi for facilitating Telangana’s formation through Article 3 provisions. He acknowledged the marginalized sections’ pivotal role in the statehood movement. Reddy also lauded Gaddar’s role in galvanizing the movement through his songs. He emphasized the government’s focus on empowering Dalits and Adivasis across sectors.
