A shift from traditional to modern farming practices is evident among farmers in Gujarat’s Dang district. With a focus on sustainable and advanced techniques, farmers are enhancing productivity and ensuring financial stability. Supported by state initiatives, farmers like Jignesh Bhoi are leading this transformation by transitioning to high-yield crops.

Jignesh Bhoi, a tribal youth from Dang, opted for modern strawberry cultivation, leveraging government schemes for support. His success story has inspired fellow farmers to follow suit, leading to a collective shift towards modern farming practices in the region. Previously reliant on conventional crops, farmers are now exploring new avenues for increased profitability.

In the mountainous terrain of Dang, where traditional crops like finger millet and sorghum were predominant, the adoption of modern farming methods is reshaping agricultural landscapes. Jignesh Bhoi’s initiative in Motamalunga village has not only brought prosperity but also set an example for others to embrace innovative farming techniques. Through strategic planning and government subsidies, he has diversified his crops and expanded his operations significantly.

Government subsidies play a crucial role in supporting farmers like Jignesh Bhoi in their transition to modern agriculture. With substantial financial aid for essentials like plants, mulching paper, and drip irrigation, farmers are encouraged to explore lucrative options such as strawberry cultivation. By tapping into local and wholesale markets, farmers are expanding their reach and boosting their incomes through strategic marketing efforts.
