A trekking accident at Lohagad Fort near Pune, initially thought tragic, was revealed as a murder conspiracy solved with the aid of crucial CCTV footage. Investigators were able to crack the case due to a peculiar detail in the footage: a man wearing a hoodie in 33-degree Celsius weather during a challenging trek.
Ketan Agarwal’s death, initially reported as an accidental fall during a trek on June 18, took a dark turn as investigators scrutinized CCTV footage from the area. The footage depicted Ketan walking with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, while a man in shorts and a hoodie followed them from a distance.
Further deepening police suspicions, another CCTV clip showed Siya suddenly turning around to look at the hooded man, who promptly sat down, seemingly trying to avoid detection. What caught investigators’ attention was the man’s attire in the scorching heat, leading them to delve deeper into his identity.
Police noted the unusual choice of wearing a hoodie in intense heat and delved into the individual’s identity. Technical evidence and digital analysis linked Siya to the hooded man, identified as 22-year-old Chetan Babulal Chaudhary. Comparing social media photos with CCTV images, investigators honed in on him.
