Trinamool Congress Official Arrested for Assaulting BJP Leader, Another BJP Worker Attacked

Trinamool Congress General Secretary of Alipurduar district, Dulal Dey, was arrested for allegedly assaulting BJP leader Lakshmi Das. The incident occurred when Das visited a bank where Dey’s daughter works, leading to a confrontation. Das sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Alipurduar District Hospital.
Meanwhile, in Malda district, a BJP worker named Kiran Saha was attacked by unidentified assailants with sharp weapons. Saha, a lawyer and active BJP member, was targeted while returning from the market. He was initially taken to Chanchal Super Speciality Hospital and later transferred to Malda Medical College and Hospital.
The BJP worker claimed that the attack was a result of a previous dispute related to his protest against public harassment of a woman in the area. This incident led to BJP activists blocking a road in protest, demanding justice for the victim and causing a police intervention to restore order.
Police have arrested the suspects involved in the attacks and have initiated an investigation into both incidents. The motive behind the assaults remains unclear at this time.
