Acting on a call by party leader Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress members protested in various locations in West Bengal against Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at the I-PAC office and the residence of its director, Pratik Jain. Banerjee initiated the protests after visiting the I-PAC office in Kolkata and instructed party units to organize rallies across the state.
Protests led by Trinamool Congress members were held in Kolkata, with placards and slogans condemning the central agencies. Similar demonstrations took place in different parts of the city, including Maniktala, where spokesperson Kunal Ghosh criticized the ED and CBI during a wheelchair-bound procession.
Allegations of political targeting were raised by Ghosh, stating that the BJP was using central agencies to undermine the Trinamool Congress before the upcoming elections. Protest marches against the BJP and central agencies were also conducted from various locations in Kolkata, Birbhum, and South 24 Parganas districts.
The ED conducted search operations at the I-PAC office in Salt Lake Sector V and Pratik Jain’s residence, leading to Chief Minister Banerjee visiting Jain’s home and the I-PAC office. Banerjee accused the ED of seizing documents related to the party’s election strategy and financial details during the raids.
