Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, commended the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL) for their significant role in advancing the government’s ambitious “One Nation, One Time” initiative. During his visit to ISRO in Bengaluru, Minister Joshi lauded ISRO’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance, emphasizing its recent strides in establishing a precise national time dissemination system.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ISRO showcased its dedication to innovation and self-sufficiency, achieving a successful proof-of-concept demonstration using Precision Time Protocol (PTP) technology. This demonstration, conducted between the Regional Remote Sensing Centre Laboratory in Bengaluru and the National Stock Exchange facility in Chennai, signifies a crucial step towards developing a robust national time synchronization framework.
Minister Joshi highlighted that the “One Nation, One Time” initiative aims to implement a modern, indigenous, and accurate national time synchronization system throughout India. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Department of Consumer Affairs, CSIR-NPL, and ISRO in driving this initiative forward, emphasizing ISRO’s contribution to India’s technological and self-reliant advancements.
During his visit, Minister Joshi engaged with ISRO scientists and engineers, discussing India’s achievements in the space sector. He praised ISRO’s work, supported by cutting-edge technology and top-notch infrastructure, for not only enhancing national capabilities but also making significant contributions to the global scientific community. Minister Joshi’s remarks align with the government’s focus on bolstering indigenous technological capabilities, with the “One Nation, One Time” initiative playing a pivotal role in ensuring precise timekeeping for critical infrastructure and digital networks nationwide.
