Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, met Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma in New Delhi to discuss the progress of rural initiatives in the state. They focused on Gram Sabha-led planning and the transparent use of public funds, emphasizing the positive impact on rural employment and community development in Rajasthan.
Chouhan highlighted the bottom-up development approach being implemented by the Centre, starting planning at the village level to address local needs effectively. He praised Rajasthan’s efforts in implementing the VB-GRAM G program, which aims to inject significant funds into rural development, creating employment opportunities and durable assets.
The Union Minister also lauded Rajasthan’s performance under the PM Micro Irrigation Scheme and emphasized the importance of financial transparency in schemes like MGNREGA. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed gratitude for the support from the Union government, noting the boost in employment and infrastructure development in rural Rajasthan due to central schemes.
