Uttar Pradesh voters who were not listed in the recent draft electoral rolls have until February 6 to apply for inclusion, stated Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa. The draft rolls, part of the Special Intensive Revision, feature 12.55 crore eligible voters while 2.89 crore names have been removed.
To add a missing name to the voter list, individuals must fill and submit Form 6 along with a Declaration Form and necessary documents. The process for claims and objections will run until February 6, followed by a verification phase until February 27, with the final electoral roll set for publication on March 6.
During the revision, 2.17 crore voters were identified as missing or relocated, with 25.47 lakh registered at multiple locations. Additionally, 46.23 lakh deceased voters were discovered, and 18.70% of voters’ signatures did not match, including those who had shifted, passed away, or were listed in multiple places.
Efforts are underway to enroll young voters who turned 18 on or before January 1, 2026, by encouraging them to apply through Form-6. Over 15.78 lakh Form 6 submissions have been received for new elector inclusions, with names added after due inquiry and document verification.
Assuring that no names will be deleted without due process, the CEO emphasized the transparency and inclusivity of the revision process. Any appeal against deletion can be made to the District Magistrate and subsequently to the Chief Electoral Officer under the RP Act, 1950.
