Veteran journalist R. Rajagopal expressed his gratitude to Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan for resolving a prolonged passport renewal issue. Rajagopal, based in Kolkata but originally from Kerala, faced delays due to an adverse police verification report despite having no legal issues. This delay jeopardized his plans to attend his daughter’s wedding in the United States.
The Chief Minister’s Office intervened after Rajagopal sought help from the Kerala government. Chief Minister Satheesan’s office addressed the matter with the relevant authorities and also contacted the West Bengal counterpart for swift resolution. With the passport now issued, Rajagopal conveyed his appreciation to the Chief Minister and his team for their support during the challenging period.
Rajagopal praised the prompt attention from the Chief Minister’s Office, emphasizing the importance of responsive public institutions. He highlighted the significance of citizens knowing that government offices are willing to listen and act with empathy. Rajagopal hoped for continued responsiveness to all Keralites seeking assistance, underscoring the role of such interventions in bolstering public confidence in democratic governance.
