Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing the Northeast’s development during the 20th Convocation of Mizoram University in Aizawl. He highlighted initiatives like improved connectivity and projects such as UDAN and PM-DevINE that are boosting the region’s progress. Radhakrishnan encouraged youth to focus on creating opportunities and explore sectors like tourism and digital services for growth.
Emphasizing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, Radhakrishnan urged the youth to avoid narcotic drug abuse and lead purposeful lives. He also advised responsible use of technology and social media, emphasizing the need to master technology for positive impact. Commending Mizoram’s natural heritage and literacy, he urged students to champion environmental sustainability and contribute to a developed India by 2047.
During the convocation, Radhakrishnan lauded Mizoram University for its commitment to solar energy and highlighted the campus’s beauty. He encouraged graduating students to play a pivotal role in the nation’s progress. The event was graced by dignitaries including Mizoram Governor General (Retd.) Vijay Kumar Singh and Chief Minister Lalduhoma, among others.
