Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to visit Jaipur on Saturday to participate in the 35th Convocation of the University of Rajasthan. Additionally, he will be present at the 23rd Cancer Survivors’ Day event organized by Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Jaipur.

During the recent sixth convocation ceremony of AIIMS Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, Vice-President Radhakrishnan emphasized the significance of the occasion as not just the culmination of hard work and sacrifice but also the commencement of a greater responsibility towards society and the nation. He encouraged the graduating students to approach their professional responsibilities with dedication and a clear sense of purpose.

Addressing the graduates, the Vice-President stressed the importance of healthcare as a public trust and highlighted the crucial role that medical professionals play in the nation’s development. He urged the young professionals to engage in preventive care, rural outreach, research, and innovation while upholding values such as empathy, integrity, and service.

Reflecting on the spiritual and cultural essence of Rishikesh as a global center for contemplation and healing, Vice-President Radhakrishnan acknowledged the profound significance that such a location adds to the solemnity of convocation ceremonies. He also commended India’s response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, citing the country’s resilience, innovation, and commitment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Emphasizing the success of India’s extensive vaccination campaign, the Vice-President highlighted that over 140 crore citizens have received free vaccines, ensuring equal access to healthcare, particularly in underserved areas. He noted that Indian scientists developed vaccines not for profit but for the benefit of humanity. Additionally, he underscored India’s global responsibility through initiatives like ‘Vaccine Maitri,’ which provided vaccines to more than 100 countries, showcasing India’s compassionate and responsible global role.
