West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, during a public address in Falta Assembly constituency, hinted at investigating a company allegedly linked to a senior Trinamool Congress leader. Without naming the individual, Adhikari mentioned having obtained a detailed property list of the company from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, revealing 24 properties in Kolkata and a palace-like office in Amtala, South 24 Parganas district.
Adhikari also discussed the suspension of former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal and two ex-deputy commissioners in connection with the RG Kar rape and murder case of August 2024. He emphasized the initiation of a departmental probe against the suspended IPS officers, aiming to unveil potential wrongdoings of the previous government through call records and WhatsApp chats.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister issued a warning to Trinamool Congress candidate Jahangir Khan regarding past misdeeds post the 2021 elections. Adhikari assured taking appropriate legal action against Khan and emphasized the identification of victims and perpetrators of post-poll violence in West Bengal in 2021, vowing to hold all responsible parties accountable.
