BJP leader Amit Malviya, head of the party’s National Information and Technology Department, has strongly criticized India’s opposition and parts of the media for their approach to the escalating conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Malviya expressed disappointment at what he called their biased position, highlighting their accusations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the US-Israeli military operation against Iran.
He pointed out that until recently, the opposition and aligned commentators had accused PM Modi of supporting the joint US-Israeli military action against Iran. Malviya dismissed these allegations as deliberate and malicious insinuations based on conspiracy theories rather than facts. He emphasized that the military operation had been planned before PM Modi’s visit to Israel, undermining any direct link between the Prime Minister’s diplomatic engagement and the strikes.
Malviya criticized the opposition for its reflexive rather than reasoned approach, describing it as immature and facile. He highlighted a pattern of shrill rhetoric, groupthink, and narratives detached from logic within the broader Left ecosystem. Malviya suggested that some in these circles still harbor a sense of entitlement, viewing governance as an inherent right rather than earned through performance and public trust.
The BJP leader’s remarks come amidst heightened global tensions following the US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Malviya’s post reflects the ongoing political debate over foreign policy interpretations in the aftermath of these significant events.
