The 55th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle kicked off the New Year on a positive note, with events held at 5000 locations nationwide. In Vadodara, the cycling event turned into a fitness festival, attracting over 1000 participants of all ages engaging in activities like yoga, Zumba, badminton, and rope skipping.
The cycling event in Vadodara was inaugurated at the Laxmi Vilas Palace by former India cricketer Rajesh Chauhan and health coach Sapna Vyas. Various dignitaries including Hon’ble Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi and Asian Championship gold medalist Nandini Agasara also participated in the 4.5-kilometre ride.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with several sports bodies, the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative aims to promote fitness and healthy living across different age groups. The event takes place simultaneously in various locations nationwide, aligning with the vision of a fitter India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Former cricketer Rajesh Chauhan praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of fitness and immunity, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Athlete Nandini Agasara also expressed her pride in being part of the movement, encouraging individuals to dedicate time daily to their fitness and health.
