Veteran Bollywood star and politician Hema Malini was pleasantly surprised to see a usually crowded Mumbai street free of hawkers and encroachments. She expressed disbelief at the transformation of the street, which she shared on social media with pictures. Hema credited BJP MLA Ameet Satam for the clean-up drive in Irla, Mumbai, making the sidewalks usable and shop windows visible.
The images posted by Hema show a clear roadside path without the usual hawkers and stalls that congest the area. This change has made it easier for pedestrians to move around comfortably. Hema Malini, a BJP Member of Parliament from Mathura, has been actively involved in politics since joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014.
Known for her iconic roles in Bollywood for over six decades, Hema Malini was a leading actress during her prime and was fondly called the Dream Girl. She has been part of numerous successful movies like “Seeta aur Geeta,” “Sholay,” “Dream Girl,” “The Burning Train,” and “Baghban.” Hema Malini, who was married to late Bollywood star Dharmendra, is a mother to two daughters, actresses Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
