Kerala BJP President and MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar has urged for a thorough investigation into the death threat received by Legislature Party leader and Chathannoor MLA, B.B. Gopakumar. Chandrasekhar emphasized the need for a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged conspiracy behind the threatening phone call, stating that it should not be dismissed lightly.
The FIR filed by Chathannoor Police details the incident where Gopakumar was reportedly threatened with death during a phone call. Chandrasekhar expressed concern over reports indicating that the call may have been orchestrated through a person with mental health issues, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Emphasizing the seriousness of the matter, Chandrasekhar called on the police to identify and apprehend those responsible for planning and executing the threat. He raised questions about the connection between the threat and Gopakumar’s recent statements in the Kerala Assembly, urging a deeper investigation into any potential underlying conspiracy.
Chandrasekhar stressed that the investigation should not stop at the arrest of the caller but should extend to prosecuting all individuals involved in planning or supporting the threat. He underscored the importance of upholding democracy by ensuring that such incidents are not downplayed and that the truth behind the threat is fully uncovered.
