Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reiterated the Left Democratic Front’s unwavering stand against communalism during a press conference in Malappuram. He dismissed claims linking the LDF with communal forces and urged reporters to approach the relevant groups for clarification. Vijayan expressed frustration at what he perceived as the media’s attempt to shape a biased narrative.
Such concerns about alleged ties with the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) were addressed by Vijayan, who emphasized the Left’s non-alignment with any communal organizations, irrespective of their demographic representation. He criticized the media for portraying the LDF as sympathetic to communal forces, a depiction he vehemently denied.
Highlighting the Left’s consistent ideology over the years, Vijayan underscored that their stance against communalism is not a recent political maneuver but a long-standing principle. He also questioned the United Democratic Front’s (UDF) position on communalism, accusing the media of favoring the UDF and Congress while unfairly targeting the LDF.
