Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project in Assam’s Kaliabor, an infrastructure endeavor valued at over Rs 6,950 crore. The project, spanning 86 kilometers, involves the four-laning of the Kaliabor–Numaligarh section of NH-715, with a special focus on environmental sensitivity, including a 35-km elevated wildlife corridor through Kaziranga National Park.
Locals have shown great enthusiasm for the initiative, praising both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for their efforts in driving development in the Northeast. The project aims to enhance connectivity across Nagaon, Karbi Anglong, and Golaghat districts, while also promoting the safe movement of wildlife and reducing human-animal conflicts.
Samaguri MLA Diplu Ranjan Sarma highlighted PM Modi’s commitment to infrastructure and business development, emphasizing the transformative impact of the government’s vision since 2014. Locals expressed gratitude towards PM Modi for his dedication to the region’s progress, with many acknowledging the positive impact the elevated corridor will have on various aspects of their lives.
The inauguration event will also witness the launch of two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, further bolstering rail connectivity between the Northeast and northern India, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure in the region.
