Rajasthan’s Leader of the Opposition, Tikaram Jully, expressed solidarity with the government during crises, highlighting the importance of transparency and public welfare. He made these remarks following an all-party meeting led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to address concerns regarding LPG and petrol supply amidst the West Asia conflict. Jully underscored the opposition’s readiness to collaborate with the government and the public in times of disasters or emergencies.
Jully urged the government to refrain from raising petrol and diesel prices, suggesting that the increased costs should be managed through tax reductions and cess adjustments instead of burdening citizens. He warned that any price hikes could lead to a significant surge in inflation, adversely impacting both individuals and the economy. The opposition leader stressed the necessity of transparent communication to prevent panic among the populace.
Furthermore, Jully called for the government to provide real-time data on essential commodity availability and distribution, including details on demand, supply levels, and stock positions of items like LPG and petrol. He pointed out the challenges faced by various sectors due to the shortage of LPG cylinders and raised concerns about delays in Piped Natural Gas (PNG) approvals, advocating for swift action against responsible parties for unnecessary delays. Jully reiterated the opposition’s commitment to addressing public concerns and contributing constructively to matters of public welfare and state security.
