Re-polling in 15 polling booths in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal ended peacefully, with a final average turnout of 90.61%. The Chief Electoral Officer, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, confirmed that there were no reports of violence or disruptions during the voting process.
The polling, which took place across two Assembly constituencies, saw an average turnout of 89.29% in the 11 booths under the Magrahat (Paschim) constituency. In contrast, the four booths under the Diamond Harbour constituency recorded a higher average turnout of 91.77%.
The re-polling was carried out under tight security measures by central forces, along with state police personnel. No instances of disturbances related to the polls were reported.
