An in-depth analysis of the state’s road safety situation, national guidelines, and legal frameworks was conducted during the meeting. The officials deliberated on strategies to establish a robust institutional framework to improve road safety standards. Emphasizing a systematic approach, the DGP instructed officials to develop a detailed action plan for the bureau, stressing the importance of inter-departmental coordination, traffic enforcement, accident data analysis, and public awareness campaigns.
Furthermore, another review meeting will be held soon to finalize the bureau’s structure, responsibilities, and implementation roadmap. In a separate meeting, the DGP also discussed plans with the EAGLE (Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau) officials to eradicate drugs from educational institutions and ensure student safety. The focus was on creating Anti-Drug and Safety Committees in schools and colleges, appointing Campus Safety Coordinators, and implementing awareness programs to combat drug abuse.
